The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company
RE: Enoch Pratt Library Orleans Street Branch
The Enoch Pratt Library Orleans Street Branch opened to the public
on 8/20/07. On 9/8/07 the mayor of Baltimore, Shelia Dixon, attending
the opening ceremony and celebrated this new addition to the community.
The library is located at 1303 Orleans St. and replaced the library
that was previously located at 301 N. Broadway. The local community
which includes a high school and college have been packing the building
daily to make use of its new computer lab and beautifully designed
interior spaces by Cho Benn Holback. This 15,000 SF facility which
was built by The Whiting Turner Contracting Company will be a cornerstone
of the community for decades to come.
The project team also included John Hopkins University
who partially funded the project. All members of the project team
worked closely to ensure that the project was built safely and no
injuries occurred onsite as a result. Also the project had a fast
track schedule that involved daily coordination will the mechanical,
electrical and sprinkler contractors to ensure the project finished
on schedule and to the highest possible quality standards. One project
team contractor 1st Electric particularly excelled on the project
in ensuring that the project stayed on schedule even though many
late changes were made in the project. They also helped in working
through manufacturers defects with the main lighting system in the
library’s public space to ensure that the lights were on for
the projects opening.
Very truly yours,
THE WHITING-TURNER CONTRACTING COMPANY

To All Concerned at 1st Electric,
This letter is in regards to your customer satisfaction
survey that you ask us to respond to.
On behalf of Tony Toskov and Cancun Cantina we
would like to say thank you very much. Service was great; your employees
were very polite and very considerate about their working area (if
they were in our way or not).
The working staff responded quickly and also worked
quickly. With all the stress we were under with the fire we know
we might not have been the easiest to work with but your crew was
patient and did a fantastic job.
So on behalf of Tony Toskov and the entire employees
at the Cancun Cantina
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
YOU GUYS WERE AWESOME
